Fred Gaut a bit cold - no blankets, only overcoats. Arrived town about 10.00 a.m. Thursday 22nd No. 1956. 5.35 a.m. No sun"

Made back to Jack Venables' Hut over the Right Hand Branch immediately afterwards. Camped out at latter on the Sat. night. 1953 shearing season. Sund. 4th Oct. 1953. 9.00 a.m. Cloudy sun"
