Photograph of "The summit of the main falls, Lick Hole Creek. The water in the creek being low, presents a curtain effect. Falls are split into two sections, this being the top and minor portion. The term "Lick Hole" is given to various localities where natural salt is deficient, and where stock have acquired the habit of licking certain places in ground or rocks in an effort to obtain the mineral. In time the continuous licking forms holes and cavities - hence the term. Wed. 24th April 1957. 2.50 p.m. Sun (in shade)"
