Title
Photograph of "Growth on gum tree, in vicinity of cliffs overlooking Lander's or Cunningham's Creek Falls. These tumours like swellings are not at all uncommon in many species of trees. Growth shown was probably caused by an infection, (bacterial), such as Agrobacterium tumefaciens, which is fairly widespread amongst Eucalypts. The bark covering of these overgrowths is often used by some tribes of aborigines for various types of dishes and other domestic uses. Sat. 27th April 1957. 4.50 p.m. Sun (in shade)"
