Biographical history
Morven Provisional School in the County of Hume was established in January 1903. Provisional Schools were opened in areas of smaller populations where insufficient children attended to justify the opening of a full public school. By 1903 ten students were required to maintain a provisional school. Usually the Department of Education supplied the teacher, books and other teaching materials and the parents provided the premises for the School.
In 1908 the School was converted to a Public School. Public Schools were basic elementary schools in the New South Wales System of education.
Morven Public School cloased in December 1967.
Note
A previous Provisional (later Half-Time) School was conducted at Morven between 1875 and 1879
