History

Moombooldool Provisional School, in the County of Cooper, opened in July 1913. Provisional schools were established in areas where the school population was too small to support a full public school. By 1913 ten pupils were required for the commencement of a provisional school. Usually the Department of Education provided the teacher, books and other teaching materials and the parents made arrangements for the school building. (1)

In January 1919 the School was converted to a public school. Public schools were basic elementary schools in the NSW education system. By 1919 twenty pupils were required to maintain a school of this classification. The School closed in December 1972. (2)
