History
The Currawarna Public School in the County of Bourke opened in January 1900. There had previously been a Currawarna Public School in existence, probably in another location, from January 1884. In May 1899 that school changed its name to Cottee Public School. (1)
A public school was the basic elementary school in the New South Wales system of education. By 1900 an attendance of twenty students was required to maintain a school of this classification. (2)
It appears that the school was discontinued in December 2004. (3)
