1431 Photograph of "Scene on Walls Creek, just below log road crossing, and about 1/4 mile downstream from Learmont's saw mill. The creek runs through some extremely rugged country, more especially in its higher reaches, cascading through a number of narrow and precipitous gorges. About 700 pounds worth of alluvial gold is reported to have been recovered from the lower end of the creek, above its junction with the Goobragandra River. 1439 Photograph of "Remains of an old wooden water wheel on Sawpit Creek and near Buckley's old homestead. Completely covered with undergrowth, it remained disused for years until found by Percy Fellowes when clearing away blackberries, etc. The wheel is about 14 ft. in diam., with a driving gear about 8 ft. Other portions of the gearing lie scattered around. Water was diverted from the creek and supplied to the wheel in a race, the power being used for sawing timber.
