From here on, the scenery on the creek changes abruptly from more or less placid and featureless levels, to a long series of falls, rock pools, minor gorges, and boulder strewn stretches, until it reaches the vicinity of the Kilmacat [Killimacat] Hill on the Brungle Road. 1287 Photograph of "The train in the vicinity of Shaw's, 2202', and near the top of its climb to Batlow. The line climbs the western side of the Gilmore Valley, and includes some very steep grades for the single engine used to negotiate. Near stops due to slipping, etc. are frequent. Two or three complete horseshoe bends are passed, especially those at Stony Creek and Wybalena, whilst some magnificent view of the Valley can be obtained along the winding track. 1421 Photograph of "View downstream from low level bridge - Buckley's Crossing. Weather very cold early this morning, with ice covering every pool of water alongside road and in the paddocks. Holes in radiator were too big for sealer to seal, so had to cut away some of the fins in places and plug the leaks with rag and matchsticks. 1429 Photograph of ""Bark hut, on the property of Thomas Patton, towards the top end of the cleared portion of Walls Creek Valley. Hut is about the second or third constructed since the ground was taken up as a selection, and is still in use intermittently, although a new fibrolite hut has been built nearby in recent years. Bark used is that of the stringybark gum, which grows prolifically in the neighbourhood. The tree in picture is a Kurrajong. Thurs. 4th July 1957. 2.15 p.m. Hazy sun" Item 1957
