Found more fallen trees ahead, so decided to camp here, on small creek, running into headwaters of Lick Hole Creek. Site of old camp. Night exceptionally cold, and 3.00 a.m. before I got to bed. 1064 Photograph of "Top of second major falls, Lick Hole Creek, about half a mile below main falls. Creek here runs between two large rocks before plunging down into large basin, surrounded by high rock walls. The fall itself is in a deep cleft, cut out of the rock face by the water, and awkward to photograph on account of light. Picture is taken looking between the two rocks on summit of falls, into the sunlit far side of the basin below. Thurs. 25th April 1957. 2.30 p.m. Sun" Item 1957

Salt lick, a short distance further on along track was situated on a saddle overlooking Tumut River Valley, and consisted of wooden troughs supplied with salt for the use of the stock.
